High School Course Catalog
The High School Course Catalog provides detailed information on the academic programs and courses available to students, including UC/CSU college entrance requirements, career academies, and pathways. It serves as a comprehensive guide to help students plan their high school education and prepare for future college and career opportunities.
Career Academies and Pathways
There are several different CTE pathways (Career and Technical Education) available to students across the VCUSD High Schools.

The Four-Year Plan
All students need to work with their counselor to ensure that they have a 4-year plan. This means meeting with the counselor each year to review which classes have been taken (and passed) and which classes should be taken the following year. Below is a sample four-year plan that includes 240 credits, meeting both VCUSD and the UC/CSU and NCAA graduation requirements.

College Entrance Requirements
If students intend to enroll in a UC (University of California) or a CSU (California State University) upon graduation from High School then it is essential to understand the requirements that need to be met.
For most 2 year colleges and other post-high school pathways, meeting the 220 credits required by VCUSD for a VCUSD High School Diploma should be enough for students to meet the entrance requirements. However, for a University of California (UC) or a California State University (CSU) there are additional requirements that must be met. Please review the link below. Please note that ALL courses must be passed with a “C” grade or better if they are going to count for UC or CSU admission.
