VALLEJO, Calif. — The Vallejo City Unified School District (VCUSD) will host its final community town hall on Tuesday, Nov. 18, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the Vallejo High School Auditorium (840 Nebraska Street). Families, staff, students, and community members are invited to attend.

This town hall is the fourth and final meeting in the district’s second phase of school closures. The rightsizing process addresses long-term enrollment declines, ongoing financial challenges, and the need to optimize school sites, ensuring that VCUSD remains fiscally stable and academically strong. The meeting will provide an overview of the data guiding the process, outline the next steps, and offer an opportunity for community members to share their perspectives.

The discussion will be livestreamed on the VCUSD YouTube channel, where viewers will also have the opportunity to submit questions. A recording will be made available the following day for those unable to participate live.

Spanish language and American Sign Language interpretation will also be available. Community members who need additional accommodations should contact communicationsoffice@vcusd.org as soon as possible.

Superintendent Rubén Aurelio emphasized the importance of community involvement at this stage of the process, stating:

“As we make decisions that will shape the future of our district for years to come, it is essential that we hear from our families and community. Your voice matters, and your engagement helps us move forward with clarity, transparency, and a shared commitment to our students.”

The VCUSD Board of Education is scheduled to make school closure and staff reduction decisions at the Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2025, board meeting. Any approved changes would take effect in the 2026–27 school year.
